  3. As for cowboys, what Dallas is famous for has always been real hardworking, ranch-running cowboys. Dallas now celebrates these old time heroes with the Old Dallas Gunfighters and Reenactment Society. There are also western themed parties available at modern ranches.
  4. “Dallas” was the first prime-time soap opera. It was such an intensely watched program that there are still active fans today. If you ask them, “Dallas” is what Dallas is famous for.
  5. As in the hit series “Dallas,” oil has been a major factor in people’s perceptions of what Dallas is famous for. It is true that in the early thirties, banks in Dallas saw an opportunity to make a profit by lending money to oil developers. Dallas became a financial center. This is what Dallas is famous for.

  8. An even worse occurrence happened in Dallas’s Dealy Plaza. John F. Kennedy was shot as his motorcade traveled through the Plaza. A president was mourned, and on that day that was what Dallas was famous for.
  9. Now, many think of Dallas as a place where conventions are held. That could be because so many corporations have their headquarters there. It could also be because Dallas has such a fantastic one million square feet convention center. Conventions are what Dallas is famous for.
  10. Finally, what Dallas is famous for is its barbecue. Many people enjoy the Texas style pit smoking barbecue methods. Brisket is good cooked this way. Ribs are also popular.
